Creating imagery with pigment is as old as recorded time; we humans love to record what we see either literally or abstractly out of our minds eye. In this fun class learn to experiment with textile paint, pencils and raw pigments to create your own images all on cloth! Emphasis in this class is on brush work using cotton broadcloth as the canvas. Fine art painting, stenciling, solar painting and Shibori techniques will be highlighted. Leave the workshop with completed fabric to sew with or frame plus various test swatches for future reference! During the day you will learn: • What results different kinds of paint yield, what are the best fabrics to paint on and where to get them. • How to “dye” with non-toxic paint, how to use various paint brushes, sponges and stencils to yield varied effects • How to blend full spectrum colors using my Triadic Color Theory System.
