8-Week Summer Session - All Ages

Thursdays, June 25th to August 20th 6:00 to 8:00PM

Join Sarah for an intensive eight-week intermediate throwing class. Build on your skills as you learn Lids, Stacking, Sets, and Trimming in a focused, hands-on setting. This class is ideal for students who want to deepen their pottery practice and take the next steps in their creative journey.

Week 1 - Throw four similar cylinders with a defined cup lip. Carve an original maker’s mark into one piece.

Week 2 - Demonstration of trimming and pulling a handle. Perform a glaze test if you plan to glaze these pieces.

Week 3 - Continue building on your throwing skills with focused practice.

Week 4 - Off-the-hump demonstration and a session on lids. Introduction to using calipers, shaping knobs, and a flange and gallery demonstration.

Week 5 - Learn to use your jar as a chuck for throwing and trimming knobs.

Week 6 - Demonstration of stacking forms to achieve extra height and continued skill development.

Week 7 - August 6th. Skip week* — drying and firing time.

Week 8 - Share bisque work and begin glazing.

Week 9 - Final glazing session.
