4-Week Session
Sundays, March 1st, March 8th, March 22nd, March 29th 10:00 to 2:00PM
Estimated Materials Fee: TBD
This introductory course is designed for beginners and returning students who want to build a foundation in metalsmithing while developing confidence, skills, and personal style.
Over four weeks, students will learn essential jewelry-making techniques through a series of guided projects that build upon one another. We’ll focus on understanding tools, working safely at the bench, and developing good habits that support growth in jewelry making.
Techniques covered include:
Sawing and piercing
Soldering fundamentals
Forming and shaping metal
Surface texture and design
Filing, sanding, and finishing techniques
Students will create several finished pieces, such as a ring, earrings, and a bracelet, with opportunities to personalize designs as skills develop. Emphasis is placed on process, skill-building and gaining confidence rather than perfection.
This class may be taken more than once as students refine techniques and explore their own creative voice.
