One Day Workshop

Material Fee: Casting Fees through Sadie will apply: $15 + cost of metal (calculated at the end of the workshop).

Discover the ancient art of wax carving in this one day workshop. Wax carving is a subtractive process in which we begin with a large piece of wax and carve away until we reach our desired design.  Students will begin with a wax tube and use sawing, filing and carving techniques to transform the wax tube into a custom ring. This workshop focuses on the process of carving and we will not be casting in this workshop. 

Casting options will be given to the students including having it cast locally by Sadie, bigger companies to send your work to or the potential to cast the piece using the sand-casting method in an open studio or a separate workshop. 

This workshop is great for beginners, those with metals experience and anyone who is looking for a more accessible way to create cool jewelry! You’ll leave the workshop with a completed wax ring ready to be cast into various metals such as bronze or sterling silver.
