Materials Fee:  $20-$40 paid to the instructor or bring your own sterling silver scraps and transform them into a new project.  Be sure all scraps are clean and free of solder.

Sand casting is an ancient and economical metal casting process that involves creating a mold from packed sand, pouring molten metal into it, which then creates an item in metal. This method is versatile, can produce large or complex shapes, and uses a wide range of metals.

In this one night class you will learn the basics for how to use delft clay to cast items for your jewelry projects. Small objects that will produce successful castings will be provided by the instructor but feel free to bring something that you might have in mind to see if it’s something you can transform into metal.
